Main Fiction: “When I Close My Eyes” by Chris Barnham

Originally published in Interzone

Chris Barnham spent a long time working for the British government, but now just makes stuff up for himself. ‘When I Close My Eyes’ first appeared in Interzone in July 2017. Chris’s forthcoming novel, Fifty-One features a time-traveling cop who is marooned in 1940s London. The story was inspired by a real event, a German V1 rocket that fell on a busy shopping street in south London in July 1944, killing fifty-one people. It’s due out soon, from Filles Vertes Publishing. Chris can be found on Twitter @barnham_chris
