    Rod,
I was listening to the podcast at my son’s swimming lessons… Thankfully I had a BlackBerry to search for, and watch, the YoutTube trailer of “Star Crash”. Yikes! Teh sound effects alone are worth the price of admission. I didn’t recognize the ‘Hoff in the trailer (if he was there) but it was a small screen.
Thanks for pointing out a truly…um…noteowrthy film (did C. Plummer ever get hired again?).

Keep up the good work everyone!

Mike, great narration (as always). Loved the main fiction, but I think I need to listen to it again . . .

Dee, sorry I butchered your name when I said it on the air during a Transcribers report. And thanks for the amazing work you do – I don’t think I realized the incredible number of hours you put in to making all the spiffy SofaStuff until I heard you talking about it. Thank you thank you. Really.

Oh my yes- Mr. Plummer was hired quite a lot after this mess of a film. He’s in my favorite STAR TREK film THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY just to note his return to the SF genre. I’ve always suspected that he took the role in STARCRASH to pay off his bar tab after a month long binge. :P

Curse you Netflix, I have to actually buy Starcrash to see it? Wow, it’s available in Bluray, that’s crazy!

I don’t think anyone will care if you “find” it on the internet…

I am lucky because I have a cult DVD shop near me that specialises in rare really hard to find movies. I swear I’ve not heard of most of the films in there.

Wonderful episode, wonderful main fiction reminding me of some of the great masters. What epicness! Well done. And what a nice letter by Matthew Sanborn Smith.
    Thanks!

About the formats of starship sofa stories two:
I’m planing to buy the hardback, just as I bought the hardback of volume one. And if I’m as impressed as I think I might be I’ll probably start yearning after a matching copy of volume one. Any plans of reissuing it in the new hardback format, just like you’re reissuing it in the new paperback format?

I’d be surprised if I could “find” that on the Net, but then again I was surprised to find it on Bluray!

Still listening to this one, but was thinking (whoops)…

I guess the release date is really close but my Zune died and I’m falling behind on my podcasts. I was just wondering why ya’ don’t try auctioning off (as in eBay) one of the copies of SSS Stories Vol 2′s special hardback with the autographs? If a big fish tweets about the book, I expect 25 copies will disappear faster than red shirted ensigns. An auction (for maybe the last copy) would make ‘em fight for it if they really wanted it and might raise more money.

Main fiction was just spectacular – as I’ve come to realize just about all Reed’s stuff is. :) He is a short story-writin’ phenom (have not read his novels so I can’t testify there!). Weird to find myself rooting for someone who was plainly a ruthless psychopath. :)

I didn’t even notice the length of the story, so engaged was I in each episode. That’s a fine sign, when a story pulls you in so you don’t notice time passing. :)

Have to say big thanks to Rod for bringing back memories of a film I forced my dad to rent for me on VHS (possibly even beta-max) a few decades ago!! I think the scantily clad space vixens may have actually swung it for him rather than me insisting it would be as good as Star Wars.

I have vague memories of how cheesy Starcrash was but oddly some of the scenes have stuck with me over time. (Oddly enough the bad space battles rather than the space vixens).

I had completely forgotten the title but now I may well just have to put it on the Xmas list…

    So thanks again Rod!
