I read The Death of Grass a couple of years ago, after (I think) The English Assassin mentioned it. It is a very good book indeed and manages to be both plausible and frightening.

Was blown away by the Tripods books as a pre-teen, and fairly recently decided to find out more about Christopher. RIP.
