Dear Interested Author or Narrator or Both:
We’ve had some questions so here are some guidelines.
First, thanks for your interest — and I really mean it!
Authors, we’re looking for stories in the 3 to 7K range, though short-shorts are good and we will consider longer if it’s really compelling stuff. To submit a story, prepare the text file as you would for any publication source — name, address, phone, and email at the top left of the page, word count on the top right, make it COURIER or TIMES NEW ROMAN 12 point type, double spaced, put the title of the story with your name under it in the middle of the first page — and send the file as an attachment to talestoterrify@gmail.com. Please put STORY SUBMISSION in the subject line.
Narrators, if you want to submit a sample — call it an ‘audition’ if you will — read and record a few minutes of a story you really like, clean it up by editing out all your mistakes, mouth slurps, popped P’s and booming B’s, heaving breaths, save it as an MP3 file and send it to talestoterrify@gmail.com. Put NARRATION SUBMISSION in the subject line. Of course you’ll want to record a bit about yourself, let us know who you are, etc. Be creative! All this for us to get an idea of what you sound like, your vocal “character,” accent, etc. and to let us know that you can record useable sound and edit your work so we don’t have to!
To submit the first 10 (or fewer) minutes for the TEN TERRIFYING MINUTES offer, do exactly as asked of the narrators, above, but send us a total of 10 minutes of the first chapter or so of your book or novella or what-you-will. Use a few of those minutes to let us know who you are and what your work is about. Put 10 MINUTES in the subject line.
Clear? Clean and neat does it every time.
And, again, thanks for listening and thanks for being interested enough to consider sending us a story, your audition piece and/or your TEN TERRIFYING MINUTES.
All the best,
Larry
