Happy New Year everyone! Great idea on getting Skeet to put out a short article on the monthly artist’s work. It would be interesting to hear a little more about the process of creating the artwork, the artist’s influences, etc… It’s a shame to hear about the lower sales figures for Vol. 3. For anyone on the forums who still hasn’t got their copy, I have to say I am extremely happy with both the content and the design of mine – I have the hardback edition with the specials, but if all you want is the story goodness (some of them are stunning), you can get that as well as an ebook version. Will pop by the new sister podcast just to hear Larry’s voice – perfect for hosting as well as narrating. Can’t say that the horror genre attracts me as much as SF, but I’ll definitely be dropping by, though the feed on the website links to the Sofa feed, instead of a new feed, is that intentional?. Also, are you planning to use these same forums to cover the output from that podcast? I do think we need the annual Sofanaut awards, if only to give us a chance to say thank you to some of the fabulous contributors, particularly those who send in articles month in, month out. I have noticed a bit of a drop off in terms of forum participation over the past 12 months, so perhaps there are fewer people who want to engage with the show and just want to go straight to the stories. Perhaps we could have some kind of rating/poll type thing for each of the articles as we go, rather than asking people to think back over 12 months (typically, this means those items more recent in the memory get more attention). I appreciate this is probably technically a pain, so perhaps it’s asking too much of Josh’s time and skill. |

Nice newsy update. I’m bummed to hear about the Volume 3 sales, but I haven’t bought my copy yet. I will be out of my next pay check, last month was filled with Christmas spending…hopefully sales will pick up with the holidays out of the way. As a commuter, SSS is the highlight of my midweek trips. Looking forward to 2012! |

Feeling very virtuous here! Bought a hard copy and ebook! Hopefully, as Dinsdale says, now that Christmas is over and done with, people will have a bit of spare cash… |

Might be an easter egg, or I might just be tinkering |

No, not intentional, I’ve still got tinkering to do!
Right now comments are open on that site so you could leave comments right on the podcast posts. But I could also create a new section on this forum for the new show as well.
Adding the rating feature wouldn’t be too tough, aggregating all that data into something useful at the end of the year might take some work though! It would be nice if we could make the process more automated or at least streamlined so that we can keep the awards going! |

Hello All! I am very happy that you chose Skeet to take on my former role as Art Director. I know he’ll do an amazing job and I am excited to hear his new segment in the future!!! I’ll always be a listener, and although I do not currently have the time to be the Art Director….I will always be in some fashion a contributor. Feel free to call on me as needed! Cheers! Brian |

At mention of a horror podcast I told myself to resist, then you tell me Larry will host it and my defences melted away. I’ll just have to find the time somehow Looking forward to the cover art discussions with Skeet. Though hope the show will continue to inspire new art itself. Its a real shame about the Sales of …Stories v3, it was a much anticipated Christmas Gift for me Not mentioned in the show was the previously mooted emagazine. Has this idea now been abandoned? Thank you for another great year of entertainment in 2011 and may the Ships engines continue to burn brightly throughout 2012. |

I too am feeling morally superior, here. I bought two copies of vol. 3 and have recommended it to many friends. Confound you other 5,99-some-odd folk who have been slacking off. |
