Mr. Williams has composed the music for close to 100 films and has written some of the most famous themes ever written. These include Harry Potter, Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, ET – the Extraterrestrial, Jurassic Park, the Star Wars Trilogy, the Indiana Jones Trilogy, Home Alone, and Saving Private Ryan. Receiving 47 Academy Award nominations, Williams has been awarded with five Oscars, seven British Academy Awards, twenty-one Grammies and 5 Golden Globes. He also has several gold and platinum recordings.
David Raiklen began studying keyboard and composing at age 5. He wrote, directed and scored his first film at age 9. David studied composition at USC and Cal Arts. Among his mentors are John Williams and Mel Powel. He has worked for Fox, Sony, Disney, Sprint, Mattel, Warner Bros and PBS. He’s scored 16 feature films, and won multiple awards including a 2004 American Music Center Grant, three Telly Awards and the 2009 Park City Festival Audience Choice Award and Gold Medal. Mr. Raiklen has composed music and sound design for theater, dance, television, cell phone, museums, concerts, video games, documentaries and features, including I Am Omega, Disney’s Sing Me A Story, BatGirl, the trailer for X-Files, and Worth - winner of over 30 prizes international and awards. David also is host of SciFi Soundtrack, appearing on the Hugo winning StarShipSofa series. He’s currently scoring a documentary on the Lakers 33 game winning streak, featuring Jerry Buss, Kobe Bryant and Phil Jackson; and a super secret Science Fiction reinvention for Television. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1907912/

A. You will log into a secure location on the internet and what you will see on your computer screen will be StarShipSofa’s computer screen, all in real time. We’ll use PowerPoint presentations and live audio, including StarWars music played for us by David Raiklen. At the end there’ll be a Q&A where you can either type a question or using a mic ask direct – all live.
Q. How long will it go on? A. Its planned to last around 1hrs 30min long with a short interval.
Q. What if I forget what I’ve been taught on the day? A. Around seven days after the event, all attendees will receive an email which will contain a link. Click on this link and you’ll be taken to a private password protected page on the StarShipSofa site. From there you will be able to download a video of the whole event, including audio and the slides we use.
