My family and I have been enjoying this video and I just now thought of you. I know you’re talking to lots of writers for stories. Careful of Mr. Ellison! Of course, if you do ask him for a freebie, we may get another video as enjoyable as this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mj5IV23g-fE

I’ve asked him a few times already… and yes… there’s nothing to show for it!

Mathew, thanks for pointing this out. ‘I don’t even take a piss without being paid for it’ classic! And that was one of the milder statements. Mmm not much chance a free story there then I guess.
Made me laugh before even the first cup of coffee in the morning.
Tony, you were very brave to ask, (BTW) have you got good fire insurance?

I guess its fair to assume that Harlan would have been in support of the recent writer’s strike then . . .

He walked the picket lines with everyone else, yes. He was less than happy with the deal they made. Take a look at this for more Ellison fun: http://www.warrenellis.com/?p=5610
Your first thought may be, he’s got plenty of money, he can wait them out forever, unlike some. But I know Harlan was scraping by when he started out back in the late fifties, and he didn’t compromise with anyone back then either.
