  1. I haven’t participated much here in the past, but I had to chime in about this story. What amazed me most is how masterfully the story went from a familiar situation to an utterly and deliciously alternate history. Even the character evolved, slowly shedding his bigotry and becoming a global citizen of a tiny slice of idealized humanity. I’m in awe of James Morrow’s imagination.

  2. Words fail me…this story was astonishing. Beautifully written, both witty and gritty and with an imaginative scope that a lot of science fiction cannot even come close to. Mr. Morrow, you are a genius.
